Part One: Internal Cleansing
In order for us to begin healing your body, mind and soul- we need to first take a look at what you are putting inside of your body. Please take the dosha quiz, which is located on various pages, throughout my website. This invaluable quiz will provide you with some excellent and informative insight into what makes you- who you are. The true measure of health is based upon 3 principals. Your physical health, your emotional health and your spiritual health. The answers to the questions on the Dosha Quiz will provide you with some basic guidelines into proper nutritional choices that will enable you function more effectively and in optimal condition.
Next, we will focus on your Body Mass Index (BMI), which is a measurement that compares your weight and height to determine your overall fitness level. BMI results do not measure any percentage of body fat, but is an excellent tool utilized to assess the healthy weight of an individual, based on their height. Knowledge of this awareness will give us an idea of our personal fitness level and to make any adjustments, if needed. Adjustments are either two things. Weight gain or weight loss.
Now let us compare your body mass index, with the results of your dosha quiz. Does your BMI reflect the well balanced lifestyle choice of either a Vata, Pitta or Kapha?
AND, ONE MORE, VERY CRUCIAL BIT OF INFORMATION...
*WHAT YOU EAT-AND HOW YOU EAT IT IS DIRECT RELATION TO YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ALL LIVING THINGS, WITH THE UNIVERSAL LAWS OF CONSCIOUSNESS-THAT'S RIGHT! YOU READ THIS CORRECTLY! WHAT YOU CONSUME AND TO THE LEVEL OF APPRECIATION THAT YOU BRING INTO YOUR AWARENESS IS IN DIRECT ALIGNMENT WITH YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!!!
Next, we will calculate your BMI index and merge this with your Dosha type (keep in mind, that each and every one of us usually has 2 doshas, with one being more prominent). These very accurate evaluations provide us with the insight to either stay where we are in our overall health~or~make a change!
Here is an example in the calculation of an individual's BMI and Dosha Type and BMI:
I will use myself as the example here, quite simply because I have gone through this whole process-successfully! And, you can too!
Here's how my Dosha-BMI looks when I am in complete harmony with the Universe and alignment with God.
I am 6 feet tall. My perfect Vata/Kapha and BMI weight is 150. My BMI rests beautifully at 20. This means that I am replenishing by body, mind and soul with the optimal foods for my dosha type. I have experienced a deep level of appreciation for my meals and have asked God to bless them. This combination of healthy food choices with complete devotion to God creates balance in my life. My weight then, is in a comfortable and healthy relation to my height~and I can enjoy exercise programs that support my body frame and overall health in body, mind and in soul.
While training for the LA Marathon, I was advised to gain some weight. So, out of fear that I would not be able to complete it, I over-indulged in over-processed, refined carbohydrate rich foods.
The day after I completed the LA Marathon (in 7 hours and 4 seconds), I had my first- ever physical. My doctor was absolutely in awe at my overall health, clearly stating that my lifestyle does play a significant role in my overall health. But he did say, that I could lose 10 pounds! Exactly those pounds of weight that I intentionally gained, just to complete the marathon!
Here's how my BMI looked then:
I was still 6 feet tall. My perfect Vata/Kapha was totally out of alignment with my BMI, which was a shocking 25!
HERE'S YET ANOTHER POWERFUL STATEMENT:
EVERY PROBLEM IS AN OPPORTUNITY IN DISGUISE!!!
In the realization that I gained weight out of fear, compelled me to create not a diet, not a fad, not some revolutionary mind altering ego inflating sexual enhancing drug, BUT a proven time-tested sacred ritual.
Believe me, as God is my witness, this works...
But before I reveal this secret to you, let us examine your own Dosha Type and BMI.
YOU WILL NEED A JOURNAL.
Please take the Dosha Quiz now and record it in your journal.
Next, write down in your journal the optimal food choices for your specific Dosha Type.
Now, let's tabulate your BMI. How tall are you? How much do you weigh? Write that down in you journal.
Look at the BMI chart below and compare...
Body Mass Index Table - Click Here (right click and save the BMI Index to your computer).
We will now calculate the results of your BMI from the Body Mass Index Table listed above:
~PHYSICAL CONDITION / BMI
*Underweight- / Below 18.5
*Normal- / 18.5-24.9
*Overweight- / 25.0-29.9
*Obese- / 30.0 and above
Write down in your journal your BMI.
Do you need to gain weight? Do you need to lose weight? Or are you at the optimal weight to support your dosha, right now? Record your answers in your journal.
Next, in my book Peaceful Separation/Peaceful Divorce, I discuss healthy lifestyle choices that my readers and students may impliment into their lives, while making the transition from being married to one of separation and divorce.
What I have come to realize, from the invaluable insight that my readers have shared with me, is that this book and is content not only applies to those making a marital split, but to all of those individuals, who-like yourself, are making the conscious choice to separate themselves once and for all-from anything that is not nourishing in their lives. Readers of my book have discovered that no matter WHAT it is that they are separating FROM, they have utilized the foundational tools outlined in my book, and are manifesting amazing forms of love and support into their lives!
Please read my book, starting NOW- and journal your thoughts, as is guided- every day. My book is available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon the Bodhi Tree. It is also available on Kindle.
By now you are at a place of fact. Pure and Simple. It's all here- and written down in your journal.
Where do you want to go from here?
If transformation is one of your goals, let's move forward- and Go For It!
I always like to begin the process of transformation with a cleansing.
~INTRODUCING~
"THE 13 DAY SPIRITUAL FRUIT CLEANSE"
By, Heather Frenner, RYT
I have designed the remarkable "13 Day Spiritual Fruit Cleanse" It is based upon an enzymatic approach to achieve weight loss, burn excess fat, cleanse the bowels, purify the complexion, reduce the signs of aging, reduce cholesterol levels, reduce inflamation of the joints and reduce fatigue - while still having energy, vitality and stamina!
I felt it imperative , after much research, to work with specific enzymes (there are alot!), and implement these enzymes into a health care regime of total wellness. I have chosen 3 enzymes that are the solid foundation of the "13 Day Spiritual Fruit Cleanse".
WHAT EXACTLY IS AN ENZYME? WHAT EFFECT DOES IT HAVE ON MY BODY?
According to Merriam-Webster's Dictionary and Thesaurus;
An enzyme is "any of various complex proteins produced by living cells that catalize specific biochemical reactions at body temperatures".
Meet your 3 best enzyme friends;
1.) Hydrochloric Acid~ Ok, in theory, this is considered not an enzyme, BUT- it IS in our stomachs and its responsibility is to digest fat. This is the first enzyme that a food source is greeted by. It initially receives a "hydrochloric bath" to dissolve fat and disperse it into the hands of the other two enzymes. It repeats itself again, when united with Pepsin, and forms Amino Acids.
2.) Pepsin~ This enzyme is present in our stomach and its role is to breaks down the essential nutrients of a protein based food into energy, so that our bodies can burn this energy for performance as well as to rejuvenate cellular growth.
3.) Ptyalin~ This enzyme, present in our saliva, is activated when we chew. It digests carbohydrates. When a carbohydrate based food is digested properly, it is then shifts its way in the form of the crystalline sugar, Maltose.
I have experienced that certain fruits, activate these enzymes and produce a profound, remarkable, life-enhancing adventure!
***Please consult the advice of a physician, before embarking on this fruit cleansing program.
~13 DAY SPIRITUAL FRUIT CLEANSE~

12.) Make every bite of fruit a sacred experience. Give thanks for it and ask that your fruit be blessed. Take your time eating and savor each and every delicious bite.
13.) Go to www.itakethevow.com and make the commitment!
Why did I choose the number 13, as a reference point for this ritual?
Because Christ had, in my opinion, 13 DISCIPLES- not 12.
1.) St. Peter
2.) St. Andrew
3.) St. Matthew
4.) St. Thomas
5.) St. Philip
6.) St. Bartholomew
7.) St. John
8.) St. James
9.) St. Simon
10.) St. Jude
11.) St. James the less
12.) St. Mathias
and what has been withheld-
13.) St. Mary Magdalene
There you have it. Jesus had 13 devoted friends (with the exception of Judas), who were completely dedicated in service. They loved him deeply. They were devoted to him and were compelled to share his wisdom and to lead by example.
It is this very principal of love and devotion that I have designed the "13 Day Spiritual Fruit Cleanse", as well as the "Yoga For Runner's" programs.
You have the "Yoga For Runner's" program. It is listed on that specific page.
As promised, here is the "13 DAY SPIRITUAL FRUIT CLEANSE". Bon Appetit!

After you have completed this ritualistic program, you may wish to follow a balanced Dosha Inspired diet. I highly recommend doing so. Leading a dosha based lifestyle will ensure that you are providing your body, your mind and your soul with the most wholesome and nutritious foods that the Universe supplies. Also, in the delicious Chopra Center Cookbook, resides is a splendid elixir that fires up the digestive system. I have also prepared this for my yoga students to enjoy after one of my yoga sessions, and about a half of an hour before they have their meals. It is called simply, Ginger Elixir.
Here is the recipe, if you would like to try it yourself!
*The Chopra Center's Ginger Elixir-
1 3-4 inch piece of unpeeled fresh ginger root
4-6 lemons
1 cup purified water
3/4 cup raw organic honey
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cut the unpeeled fresh ginger into 1/2 inch pieces. Using a powerful juicer, push the ginger through the juicer and juice enough to make one cup. In citrus juicer, juice the lemons to make 1 cup. Combine the juices in a large bowl. With a wire whisk, mix the water, honey, and black pepper into the ginger and lemon juice. Whisk until blended. Store in a pitcher or glass jar in the refrigerator.
I have also found a wonderful, new product that I have incorporated into my dietary lifestyle. It is excellent, when mixed with some fruit and enjoyed about 45 minutes before a rigorous exercise program of endurance (such as training for running a marathon) because it will not weigh you down, and give you the stamina and energy that you need.
It is called Nutrii-Veda, and I drink this for breakfast and mix it with a cup of milk, a generous serving of strawberries (they have a significant anti-inflammatory effect) , a scoop of wheat germ and I'm ready to go- for miles and miles!!!
I encourage you to at least try this! It is incredibly delicious and very satisfying. Try is for a month and write it down in your journal. You may even want to post your feelings about it in the blog, and join with other members of "The Vine and Fig Tree" who are reaping the benefits of overall health and well-being!!!
In addition to the love and support from this website, I highly recommend reading her best-selling, new book- "Women, Food and God" by, Geneen Roth. It is one of those "Aha-Moments of Revelation" kind of books and will shift your conscious awareness from emotional eating to divine intervention with a deep appreciation of food-and its origins.
~ARE YOU READY FOR MORE HEALING???
(If you are, then please move forward to PART TWO)
*In Part One of the Vine and Fig Tree, we explored who you are on the inside of your body. In Part Two, we will indulge in how to take care of the outside of your body. Enjoy!
